A supplier’s catalog cannot prove real manufacturing capacity. Request the factory address, production-flow chart, equipment list, and monthly output records. Check whether molding, forming, assembly, and packing occur in-house. Ask for recent orders with customer details removed. Compare claimed capacity with machine numbers, shift patterns, and lead times. A factory that promises unlimited volume deserves closer questioning. An uncomfortable detail.

The ISO Survey 2022 recorded 1,265,216 ISO 9001 certificates worldwide, but certification alone does not guarantee consistent filter funnels. Ask for the certificate scope, issuing body, audit date, and corrective-action records. For samples, order several units from different production batches. Inspect rim alignment, outlet dimensions, surface defects, wall thickness, and fit with standard laboratory equipment. Test liquid flow and leakage under repeated use. Record every result with photographs and measurements. One attractive sample is insufficient.

Quality control should include incoming-material checks, first-piece approval, in-process inspections, and final sampling. Request the inspection plan, batch number format, calibration records, and nonconformance procedure. AQL sampling may help, yet it cannot replace functional testing for your application. The 2023 World Quality Report emphasizes stronger traceability and data visibility in modern quality programs. Suppliers should therefore provide dated inspection records, not verbal assurances. I would also repeat testing after tooling changes. Many buyers skip this step. That is where reliability can quietly decline.
